A sound and light show representation of the stories of Safed and its many sages, past and present will be projected onto the building of the Saraya. The Saraya was built over 300 years ago by a powerful Bedouin Sheikh to live in as a palace. Today it is used as a community center and also has a synagogue in it. Mayor Shuki Ohana stated that this project is something that the city has been working on for a long time. Even though that it is a difficult time due to the war, it is important to promote a significant and important tourism project.
The projection on the Sariya building is an audiovisual representation of the city of Safed and its sages, figures from the past, including the Ari Hakadosh, Rabbi Yosef Caro, Rabbi Moshe Alshich, and the history of the city in different periods. The audiovisual project is adapted to the Jewish and Israeli spirit.
No date has been given as to when it will begin but in recent days, residents have noticed that two big modern projectors have been installed across from the Saraya.
